Good luck with your appearance at the festival of words. I have seen some of the mapping of social media you’ve alluded to here and indeed can confirm that its beautiful, my problem is that I’m not very good with maps so for me mapping cyberspace is a mental image of the world’s biggest ball of pink wool:- unraveled.

I could have sworn that the biggest in Leeds University’s Roger Stevens lecture theatre used to have 900 biochemists in it, but the website says 308. Of course we weren’t as wide in the 80′s…

I am saddened to read about the pisasng of Gary Gygax. Many many hours Phil, Jeff, and I sat around a grid tossing 4, 8, 10, and 20 sided dice while attacking the unknown and, of course, coming out victorious. Dungeons and Dragons was not only a great time, it taught us at a very young age to work together, plan together, think creatively, and most importantly, taught us that it is sometimes better NOT to fight but instead try to talk with the unknown monster aproaching us.D&D will always have a special place in my heart. This view of Facebook is backed up by an article in MIT Technology Review which includes the line:
